Both steam boilers and steam generators can provide steam. Many customers are entangled in which one to purchase. Strictly speaking, steam boilers include steam generators, but steam generators are not steam boilers. The main differences are as follows:
1) The steam boiler has better quality and sufficient output
Steam generator steam contains a lot of water, is of poor quality, and is not conducive to full use of heat. The steam boiler drum is equipped with a steam-water separator, which can separate steam and water and purify steam, thereby effectively ensuring the quality of steam.
2) Steam boilers are more suitable for industrial uninterrupted steam usage
The steam generator has simple structure, small water volume, and fast steam production; steam boiler has large water volume, sufficient output, strong load adaptability, and long-term operation is more stable.
With the same displacement, the steam generator is more suitable for small and micro users who use steam intermittently, such as steaming tofu, ironing clothes and other small and micro enterprises.
Most industrial enterprises, such as chemical industry, printing and dyeing, food, heating, etc., need continuous and uninterrupted steam consumption, which is more suitable for long-term stable operation of steam boilers.
3) Low cost of water treatment in steam boiler
The steam generator has high requirements for water quality and needs to meet the pure water standard, which means that the steam generator water treatment investment cost is high, the operating cost is high, and once the water quality does not meet the standard, it is easy to cause tube bursts, unable to repair, and the boiler as a whole is scrapped.
Steam boiler water quality requirements are relatively low, refer to GB1576-2008 industrial boiler water quality standards, generally use softened water treatment technology or add resin filters.
4) Steam boiler capacity range is larger
The steam generator has a small capacity range, and the evaporation capacity is suitable for about 0.5T. It generally adopts a modular configuration and is often used in production and life fields that require steam consumption of less than half a ton or heating value of less than 300,000 kcal.
The steam boiler has a large capacity range, up to 160T or even larger, and is suitable for various industries such as heating, electric power, and chemical industry.
